RESOLUTION APPROVING WAGES FOR NON-FIRE
DEPARTMENT CITY EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the Faii-fax City Council discussed 2024 wages during tl�eir meeting on Janualy 16, 2024;
and
WHEREAS, the Fairfax City Council authorized a wage increase of 2.50% plus 50 cents per hour for
the non-library, non-fire department einployees effective January 1, 2024 (Brian Merta will i�ot be included due
to his promotion aud raise in Noveinber of 2023); and
WHEREAS, the Fairfax City Council hired Eric Von Sprecken as a full-ti�ne Public Works I
mainteilance deparhnent einployee during their city council lneeting on February 13, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Faii•fax Library Board lnet on Februaiy 5, 2024, and authorized a wa�e increase of
2.50% plus $2,00 an hour far all library einployees effective Januaiy 1, 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; the wages were set for each employee as follows:

Brian Merta, Public Water/Sewer Supervisor $37.00 per hour, effective November 15, 2023
Cynthia Stimson, City Clerk/Treasurer $36.23 per hour, effective January 1, 2024
Lynn Miller, Public Works Supervisor $36.05 per hour, effective January 1, 2024
Brandon Lefebure, W/WW Lead Operator $29.94 per hour, effective Januaiy 1, 2024
Joe Kell, Parks & Recreation Director $27.37 per hour, effective January 1, 2024
Dallas Chandler, Public Works I $27.17 per hour, effective January 1, 2024
Leif Stensland, Public Works I $24.08 per hour, effective January 1, 2024

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city staff is hereby authorized to issue payroll checks and
make all required supporting payroll payments as required per the personnel manual or required by law.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and
City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Resolution.
