RESOLUTION SETTING TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING
CONCERNING A TAX STATEMENT SHOWING THE PROPOSED TAX
LEVIES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024-2025 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa is preparing the annual budget for
the Fiscal Year 2024-2025; and
WHEREAS, the State of Iowa requires a public hearing on the tax statelnent
showing proposed tax levies where any resident or taxpayer of the City inay present to the
City Council objections or arguinents in favor of the tax dollars before the budget is
adopted and certified to the county auditor; and
WHEREAS, interested residents or taxpayers having coinments for or against the
proposed property tax dollar proposal from certain levies may call 425-436-6370 into the
meeting via a conference call with access code of 759797 or attend the city coui7cil ineeting
on March 26, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the Fairfax City Hall, at 300 80r1' Street Coui•t, Fairfax,
Iowa.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Faiz�fax, Iowa, that this collfii-�ns that the city council order the publication of a notice of
public hearing pertaining to the tax statement showing proposed inaximum pro�erty tax
dollars froin certain levies not less than ten (10) days nor more thail twenty (20) days prior
to the date set for the hearing. A notice shall also be posted on the city website and social
inedia accounts.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute
said resolution.
