A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COMMERCIAL INSURANCE
COVERAGE FOR THE CITY OF FAIRFAX
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax needs to have commercial insurance coverage and
Continental Western is not renewing the City's policies; and
WHEREAS, the agency of Wilson Hite Insurance Incorporated has presented two quotes
for the City of Fairfax's property, portable equipment, general liability, automobile, commercial
umbrella, worker's compensation, and fire department insurance; and
WHERAS, the City of Fairfax had a committee review the insurance quote details and the
committee is recommending the City of Fairfax accept the quote from Provident, with the
following adjustments:
• Make the deductible for all vehicles $2,000 for a savings of $1,751
• Make the building deductible $10,000 for a savings of $4,351
• Add the sewer back-up coverage of $100,000 with a$10,000 deductible for $426.00
• These adjustments make the quote $150,806;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, that the City of Fairfax wishes their commercial insurance coverages for: property, portable
equipment, general liability, automobile, commercial umbrella, worker's compensation, and the
fire department to be issued by Provident with Wilson Hite Insurance Incorporated as the agent,
per the quote of $150,806, submitted on March 26, 2024.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby
authorized and directed to execute said resolution.
