RESOLU�I,ION REMOVTNG FAT2M-TO-MARKE�I, DESIGNATION FROM

WILLIAMS BOULEVARD IN I� AIRFAX IOWA
1VI�IIrRI�AS, tl�e City of Fairfax is requesting the L�nn County F3oard of Supervisors submit a
resolution to the Iowa Departmcnt of Transportation removing East Southview Road between Lefebure
Road and Williams Boulevard in Fairfax, Iowa, from the Farm-to-Market Road System; and
WIITREAS, the City of Fairfax City Council has T-eviewed this r-equest and considers this request
paramount to the longevity of East Southview Road by removi»g heavy tr-uck traffic; and
WIIl?R�AS, Iowa Code requires a resolution fi-oin the Linn Counry Boai-d of Supervisots to the
Iowa Department of Transportation requesting a fann-to-market system modification; and
WIIEIZ�AS, the referenced East Southview Road is cw-rently � seal-coat road with little to no base
in whicll constant, heavy truck traffic wi11 degrade the road guickly and requii-e constant maintenanee.
NOW, TII�REI'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ciry Counci] of t}�e City of Fairfax, Iowa, the
Linn County Board of Supervisors send a resolution to the Iowa Department of Transpol-tation t-emoving
East Southview Road between Lefebure Road and Williams Boulevard in Fairfax, Iowa, from the Farm-to-
Market Road System.
I3E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk/7'reasurer are hereby authorized
and clirected to execute said resolution.
