A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE SALE OF ONE FIRE DEPARTMENT
VEHICLE AND THE PURCHASE OF ANOTHER BY THE CITY OF

WHEREAS, the Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department is funded by the City of Fairfax and
the City of Walford; and
WHEREAS, the City of Walford purchased a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban to have in their
fire station; and
WHEREAS, this 2008 Chevrolet Suburban although purchased by the City of Walford
was titled to the City of Fairfax for insurance purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City of Walford has found a lower mileage 2011 Chevrolet Suburban and
they have an agreement to purchase this to replace the 2008 Chevrolet Suburban; and
WHEREAS, the City of Walford wishes to follow the same procedure and have this 2011
Chevrolet Suburban titled to the City of Fairfax and covered on the City of Fairfax's insurance
policy as all iire department vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the City of Walford requests the City of Fairfax sign over the title of the 2008
Chevrolet Suburban to the City of Walford and allow the City of Walford to determine what to do
with the 2008 Chevrolet Suburban and keep any money raised if they choose to sell it; and
WHEREAS, the 2008 Chevrolet Suburban will be removed from the City of Fairfax's
insurance at the time the title is signed over to the City of Walford.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Fairfax, Iowa, that they approve the City of Fairfax signing over the title of the 2008 Chevrolet
Suburban to the City of Walford and allow them to determine what to do with it, they are to keep
any money raised if they choose to sell it, and this vehicle will be removed from the City of
Fairfax's insurance at the time the title is signed; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa,
they will allow the 2011 Chevrolet Suburban which will soon be purchased by the City of Walford
to be titled to the City of Fairfax and placed on the City's insurance as all other fire department
vehicles; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa,
that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby directed to certify this resolution of approval.
