A RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH LANDLORD REGISTRATION LATE
FEES FOR THE CITY OF FAIRFAX
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has established a Rental Housing Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has established Rental Housing Annual Landlord
Registration Fee and has set a registration date deadline of December 1, 2024; and
WHEREAS, as of December 2, the City of Fairfax has not received landlord registrations
on 60% (17 of 42) of the landlords owning property in Fairfax; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax wishes to establish a late payment fee, in regards to the
annual Landlord Registration Fee, of an additional $100 if received after January 1 each year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa
to establish a Landlord Registration Late fee as stated above.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that
the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute this resolution and collect
the late fees.
