RESOLUTION SETTING TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR
THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING THE MAXIMUM TAX DOLLARS FROM
CERTAIN LEVIES FOR THE CITY'S PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024
BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa is preparing the annual budget for
the Fiscal Year 2023-2024; and
WHEREAS, Iowa SF 634 requires a public hearing on the proposed maximum
property tax dollars from certain levies where any resident or taxpayer of the City may
present to the City Council objections or arguments in favor of the tax dollars before the
budget is adopted and certified to the county auditor; and
WHEREAS, interested residents or taxpayers having comments for or against the
maximum property tax dollar proposal from certain levies may ca11425-436-6370 into the
meeting via a conference call with access code of 759797 or attend the city council meeting
on February 14, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the Fairfax City Hall, at 300 80t" Street Court, Fairfax,
Iowa.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Fairf�, Iowa, that this confirms that the city council order the publication of a notice of
public hearing pertaining to proposed maximum property tax dollars from certain levies
not less than ten (10) days nor more than twenty (20) days prior to the date set for the
hearing. A notice shall also be posted on the city website and social media accounts.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iovva, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute
said resolution.
