RESOLUTION FOR THE AWARD OF THE 2023 HEARTLAND
HEIGHTS NEIGHBORHOOD PARK PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City received the following bids on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 at
2:00 pm for the construction of the Heartland Heights Neighborhood Park project:
BIDDERS Bid
Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete $129,121.70
Shift Companies $147,688.75
Rathje Construction Co. $150,668.89
Midwest Concrete $155,663.90
Bowker Mechanical $172,022.54
Bill Whitters Construction $189,042.45
WHEREAS, Hall & Hall Engineers has reviewed the bids and recommends the City
award the bid to the low bidder, Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete, LLC, for the amount of
$129,121.70.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, to award the bid to Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete, LLC, for the amount of
$129,121.70.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, that Councilmember Daly and the City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and
directed to execute said resolution.
Passed and approved this 24th day of January 2023.

On Wednesday, January 18'h, 2023 at 2:00 pm the following bids were received for
construction of the Heartland Heights Neighborhood Park project:

The Engineer's Estimate was $190,000.00.
Eastern lowa Excavating & Concrete is the low bidder. They are a reputable contractor
with experience completing the type of work involved in the Heartland Heights
Neighborhood Park project.
Hall & Hall Engineers, Inc. recommends award of the bid to the low bidder, Eastern
lowa Excavating & Concrete, for the total amount of $129,121.70.
