A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE WASTE AND
RECYCLING COLLECTION AGREEMENT WITH REPUBLIC
SERVICES, INC.
WHEREAS, The City of Fairfax desires to have Republic Services, Inc. provide solid
waste and recycling collection within the corporate limits of the City of Fairfax; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax and Republic Services, Inc. have drafted the attached
Amendment to the Waste and Recycling Collection Agreement which was entered into in 2018
covering the requirements for such collection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, to have the City of Fairfax enter into the attached Amendment to the Waste and Recycling
Collection Agreement with Republic Services, Inc. and to have said Amended Agreement
extended to be effective from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2028; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that
the Mayor Pro Tempore and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby directed to certify this resolution of
approval and the Mayor Pro Tempore is authorized to sign the Amendment to the Waste and
Recycling Collection Agreement with Republic Services, Inc.

AMENDMENT FOR THE CONTRACT FOR SOLID WASTE COLLECTI�N
AND DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING COLLECTION SERVTCES
ENTERED INTO ON JULY ]., 2018
Tliis extension shall take effect on July 1, 2023 by and between the City of Fairfax, an Iowa
municipality (City) and BFT Waste Services, LLC dba Republic Services of Cedar Rapids. ("Contractor").
The City and the Contractor desire to extend the terms of the original contract with modification.
Therefore, the City and Contractor agree to extend the contract with the modifications set forth below.
1. Term. The term shall be extended through June 30, 2028. Effective July 1, 2023 through June
30, 2028. The remaining teims in the original contract shali remain in full force and effect.
2. Payments. The City's per unit monthly costs shall be;

3. The Park dumpster service will be increased to Monday and Friday April through October.
This agreement shall be deemed part of the original contract agreement. Any reference to the original
agreement shall include this Contact Extension.
