RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MAXIMUM TAX DOLLARS FROM
CERTAIN LEVIES FOR THE CITY'S PROPOSED
FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa is preparing the annual budget for
the Fiscal Year 2023-2024; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fairfax has considered the proposed
FY23 city maximum property tax dollars for the affected levy total; and
WHEREAS, a notice concerning the proposed city maximum property tax dollars
was published and posted on the city website and social media accounts as required; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing concerning the city maximum property tax dollars
for the affected levy total was held on February 14, 2023, at 6:00 PM from Fairfax City
Hall, at 300 80th Street Court, Fairfax, Iowa.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the maximum property tax dollars for the affected tax levies for FY24
shall not exceed $1,071,760, which represents less than 102% of the maximum property
tax dollars requested for FY23 from the affected levies.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor Pro Tempore and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to execute said resolution.
