RESOLUTION TO FILE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF
CONTRACT, AND OPINION OF PROBABLE COST; SET A TIME AND
DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING; AND SET A TIME AND DATE TO
RECEIVE BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE 2023 ELEVATED
WATER STORAGE TANK PAINTING, MAINTENANCE, & REPAIRS
PROJECT
BE IT RESOLVED, By the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that plans,
specifications, form of contract, and opinion of probable cost for the 2023 Elevated Water
Storage Tank Painting, Maintenance, & Repairs Project have been filed with the City Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Public Hearing for the plans, specifications,
form of contract, and opinion of probable cost for the 2023 Elevated Water Storage Tank
Painting, Maintenance, & Repairs Project shall be held at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday,
April l lth, 2023, at 6:00 PM at Fairfax City Hall.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that bids shall be received on Wednesday, April 19tn,
2023, at 2:00 PM in the office of the City Clerk for the construction of the 2023 Elevated Water
Storage Tank Painting, Maintenance, & Repairs Project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor Pro Tempore and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed
to execute said Resolution.

SECTION 00 11 10 - NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR THE 2023 ELEVATED WATER STORAGE TANK PAINTING, MAINTENANCE, 8� REPAIRS
PROJ�CT
DESCRIBED AS:
This project shall consist of the following work to the existing elevated water storage tank located at 910
2nd Street in Fairfax, lowa: Abrasive blast cleaning and painting of the exterior, wet interior, dry interior,
and foundation; replacement of the transition cone manway gasket, condensate drain line, wet interior
ladder rungs, roof vent screens, light fixture in the dry interior, and all light bulbs in the dry interior and
aviation lights; installation of a roof painter's railing, handholds at the roof hatches/painter's hatch,
cathodic clips and pressure fitting, rigging lug on the transition cone, and a gasket on the wet interior roof
hatch and painter's hatch; and modification of the overflow discharge.
Contract No. 6950-22-08
At 6:00 PM, local time, on the 11t" day of April, 2023 at the Council Chambers, 300 80t'' Street Court Fairfax,
lowa, a public hearing will be conducted by the Fairfax City Council on the proposed plans, specifications,
form of contract, opinion of probabie cost, and the proposed improvements described thereby for the 2023
Elevated Water Storage Tank Painting, Maintenance, & Repairs project. The Fairfax City Council has
previously filed these documents with the City Clerk of the City of Fairfax, lowa. The City Engineer's opinion
of probable construction cost for the Work is $436,000.00. The proceedings of the City Council referring to
the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and cost opinion are also made part of this notice. At
this hearing, any interested person may appear and file written and/or oral objections to these documents
and the proposed improvements.
