RESOLUTION APPROVING DONATION TO THE
FAIRFAX USA DAYS COMMITTEE
and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax does not organize the annual community festival known as USA Days;
WHEREAS, the USA Days Committee takes on this role and organizes the Fairfax USA Days events
with help from other members of the Fairfax Civic Coalition; and
WHEREAS, the USA Days Committee is a 501(c)3 organization with expenses for this annual
community celebration; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax knows this annual celebration is an economic development boost to the
community, provides community-wide involvement, fosters a sense of one Fairfax, and provides entertainment
for the residents; and
WHEREAS, the Fairfax USA Days Committee is asking for financial support from the City of Fairfax
in the amount of $5,000.00 for the 2023 events.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Fairfax City Council that the city support the USA
Days Committee events with a donation of $5,000.00 for this important economic development boost to the
City of Fairfax.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor Pro
Tempore and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Resolution.
