RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PARK FEES
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has several park facilities that are available for use; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax needs to establish the park fee schedule and procedure for
the collection of these fees; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor or Parks and Recreation Director may, at their discretion, reduce
or waive the cost to use these facilities for civic or non-profit organizations; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Fairfax City Council does hereby
establish the following schedule of fees and procedures for reservations of the City of Fairfax Park
facilities:
Prairie Creek Park Pavilion —$50.00 per day for non-Fairfax residents (8 hours, additional
time by agreement with city), free of charge for Fairfax residents. Reservations can be made
through the city clerk's office or online. Payment is due at the time of the reservation. Rental fee
refunded only due to weather cancellations. Renter's name, date, and time of the reservation will
be posted prior to the date.
Citv Park Pavilion -$75.00 per day for non-Fairfax residents (8 hours, additional time by
agreement with city), free of charge for Fairfax residents. Reservations can be made through the
city clerk's office or online. Payment is due at the time of the reservation. Rental fee refunded
only due to weather cancellations. The FYS schedule will be consulted before the reservation is
approved. The name, date, and time of the reservation will be posted prior to the date. All renters
may choose to rent one of the diamonds at City Park (if available) when they reserve the
pavilion. Rental rate is $40.00 for the duration of their pavilion reservation.
Hawks Rid�e Park Pavilion -$90.00 per day for non-Fairfax residents (8 hours, additional
by agreement with city), free of charge for Fairfax Residents. Reservations can be made through
the city clerk's office or online. Payment is due at the time of the reservation. Rental fee refunded
only due to weather cancellations. The renters name, date, and time of the reservation will be
posted prior to the date.
Re io�l Sports and Park Complex Pavilion -$90.00 per day for non-Fairfax residents (8
hours, additional by agreement with city), free of charge for Fairfax residents. Reservations can be
made through the city clerk's office or online. Payment is due at the time of the reservation. Rental
fee refunded only due to weather cancellations. The FYS schedule will be consulted before the
reservation is approved. The renters name, date, and time of the reservation will be posted prior to
the date. All renters may choose to rent one of the diamonds at The Complex (if available)
when they reserve the pavilion. Rental rate is $40.00 for the duration of their pavilion
reservation.
Fetter Field at City Park — Free use for FYS activities or the Fairfax USA Day Committee.
Park users may use the diamond when not in use by a scheduled, organized activity, but there will
be no field maintenance, equipment, or support supplied. The renters name, date, and time of the
reservation will be posted prior to the date.
The following schedule of rental fees shall be charged to all other groups:
$30.00 per practice
$60.00 per game
$200.00 per day for any use more than a double header game
Groups paying to use the diamond must provide a certificate of insurance prior to the use
with the following provisions per diamond.
Name the City of Fairfax as also insured on their liability insurance.
2. Provide liability insurance in amounts not less than $2,000,000 aggregate and
$1,000,000 per occurrence; products and completed operations insurance not less than
$1,000,000; and medical expense insurance not less than $5,000.
3. Agrees to assume full and absolute responsibility for, and to defend, hold harmless
and indemnify the City of Fairfax and Fairfax Youth Sports Association and its officers,
volunteers, agents, and employees for any and all claims, damages, and losses to persons or
property in any way resulting from the care, operation, or use of the area and activities covered
by this rental.
Reservations must be made through Fairfax Parks & Rec Director. Any checks for rental
fees will be made payable to the City of Fairfax and turned into the city clerk's office as soon as
possible after receipt of the payment.
Youth Baseball/Softball Diamonds at Citv Park and Fairfax Re io� nal Sports and Park Complex —
free use for FYS or the Fairfax USA Day Committee.
The following schedule of rental fees shall be charged to all other groups, per field:
$40.00 per practice (or when renting the City Park or Complex pavilion)
$60.00 per game
$400.00 per day for any use more than a double header game
$25.00 per hour per field of field lights usage
Groups paying to use the diamond must provide a certificate of insurance prior to the use
with the following provisions.
1. Name the City of Fairfax as also insured
2. Provide liability insurance in amounts not less than $2,000,000 aggregate and
$1,000,000 per occurrence; products and completed operations insurance not less than
$1,000,000; and medical expense insurance not less than $5,000.
3. Agrees to assume full and absolute responsibility for, and to defend, hold harmless
and indemnify the City of Fairfax and its officers, volunteers, agents, and employees for any and
all claims, damages, and losses to persons or property in any way resulting from the care,
operation, or use of the area and activities covered by this rental.

Soccer Fields at Fairfax Re�ional Sports and Park Complex — free use for FYS or the Fairfax USA
Day Committee. Once the fields are well established and fully usable, park users may use the
fields when not in use by an organized activity, but there will be no iield maintenance, equipment,
or support supplied.
The following schedule of rental fees shall be charged to all other groups, per field:
$30.00 per practice
$60.00 per game
$250.00 per day for any use more than a double header game
Groups paying to use a iield must provide a certificate of insurance prior to the use with
the following provisions or pay an additional fee of $150.00 per reservation, per field.
Name the City of Fairfax as also insured on their liability insurance.
2. Provide liability insurance in amounts not less than $2,000,000 aggregate and
$1,000,000 per occurrence; products and completed operations insurance not less than
$1,000,000; and medical expense insurance not less than $5,000.
3. Agrees to assume full and absolute responsibility for, and to defend, hold harmless

soon as possible after receipt of the payment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that
the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Resolution.
