RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FAIRFAX YOUTH AND ADULT
SPORTS REGISTRATION FEES
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax believes all people should have ihe opportunity to play
youth and adult sports regardless of ability or experience; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has several youth and adult sports pz-ograms; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax needs to establish the registration fee schedule and
procedure for the collection of these fees; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor or the Parks and Recreation Director will review requests for
reduced or waived fee(s) according to this policy and have the ability to detennine if part or all of
the fee(s) will be paid from donations received by the City of Fairfax for this purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Fairfax City Council does hereby
establish the following schedule of registration fees and procedures for collection of such fees:
The following schedule of regish-ation fees shall be charged:
Pre-K and Kinder�arten T-Ball 1 st and 2nd-�rade coach/ machine pitch and pee wee
soccer -$30.00 per player. Registrations must be made through the city's website. The Parks
Department may take late registrations. Registration fee is due at the tiine of registration.
Little Lea�ue and Pony League baseball/ softball -$60.00 per player. Registrations must
be made thl•ough the city's website. The Parks Department may take late registrations. Registration
fee is due at the tiine of registration.
Hi�;h School Club Softball --$60.00 per player. Registrations inust be made through the
city's website. The Parks Depai�tment may take late registrations. Registration fee is due at the
time of registration.
Hi�h School Club Baseball -$125.00 per player. Registrations must be made through the
city's website. The Parks Department may take late registrations. Registration fee is due at the
time of regish-ation.
Tournament Softball --$150.00 per player. Registrations must be made through the city s
website. The Parks Departinent may take late registrations. Registration fee is due at the time of
registration.
Adult Coed Softball --�109.00 per team, $79.00 if a returning team. Registrations n7ust
be made by contacting the Parks & Rec Departinent. The Parks Department inay take late
regish�ations. Registration fee is due at the time of registration.
Adult Pickleball — Free. Registrations can be snade by contacting the Parks & Rec
Deparhnent. The Parks Department may take late registrations.
The Mayor or Fairfax Parks & Recreation Director is givell the authority to reduce or waive
a registration fee(s) prior to the beginning of the sports program if the registration fee(s) should
prove to be a financial burden to the participant's fainily. The parent or guardian must subinit in
writing tlle reason for the hardship and request a reduction or waiver of the fee(s). If approved,
such regist�-ations fee(s) will be paid froin donations to the City of Fairfax for this purpose.
Information about this policy will be included on the sign-up fonn and on the Parks & Recreation
page on the city's website.
The Fairfax Parks & Recreation Director will keep records of requests for reduced or
waived fee(s) and the action taken.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that
the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Resolution.
