RESOLUTION TO FILE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF
CONTRACT, AND OPINION OF PROBABLE COST; SET A TIME AND
DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING; AND SET A TIME AND DATE TO
RECEIVE BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE 2024 WATER MAIN
EXTENSION UNDER UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD PROJECT
BE IT RESOLVED, By the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that plans,
specifications, form of contract, and opinion of probable cost for the 2024 Water Main
Extension Under Union Pacific Railroad Project have been filed with the City Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Public Hearing for the plans, specifications,
form of contract, and opinion of probable cost for the 2024 Water Main Extension Under Union
Pacific Railroad Project shall be held at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, January 9tn,
2024, at 6:00 PM at Fairfax City Hall.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that bids shall be received on Wednesday, January
24t", 2024, at 2:00 PM in the office of the City Clerk for the construction of the 2024 Water
Main Extension Under Union Pacific Railroad Project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
Resolution.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR THE 2024 WATER MAIN EXTENSION UNDER UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD PROJECT
DESCRIBED AS:
Construction of 206 lineal feet of 12-inch diameter water main, to be located east of Highway 151 from
Railroad Street to Losey Avenue in the City of Fairfax, lowa. Of the proposed 206 lineal feet of new water
main, 120 lineal feet shall be contained within a casing pipe under the Union Pacific Railroad.
Project No. 6950-22-04
At 6:00 PM, local time, on the 9'h day of January, 2024 at the Council Chambers, 300 80t" Street Court
Fairfax, lowa, a public hearing will be conducted by the Fairfax City Council on the proposed plans,
specifications, form of contract, opinion of probable cost and the proposed improvements described thereby
for the 2024 Water Main Extension Under Union Pacific Railroad project. The Fairfax City Council has
previously filed these documents with the City Clerk of the City of Fairfax, lowa. The City Engineer's opinion
of probable construction cost for the Work is $302,100.00. The proceedings of the City Council referring to
the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and cost opinion are also made part of this notice. At
this hearing, any interested person may file written and/or oral objections to these documents and the
proposed improvements.
