RESOLUTION SETTING TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR
THE PURPOSE OF SOLICITING WRITTEN AND ORAL COMMENTS ON THE
CITY'S PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 2022-2023 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa has prepared the annual budget for
the Fiscal Year 2022-2023; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Code 384.16.3 requires a public hearin� on the proposed budget
where any resident or taxpayer of the city inay present to the City Council objections to
any part of the budget for the following fiscal year or arguments in favor of any part of the
budget befare its adoption and certification to the county auditor; and
WHEREAS, interested residents or taxpayers having coinmei7ts for or against the
proposed FY23 budget snay come in peison or call 425-436-6370 into the meeting via a
conference call with access code of 759797 and be heard at the public hearing at the city
council meeting on March 9, 2021, at 6:00 PM at the Fairfax City Hall, at 300 80t�' Street
Court, Fairfax, Iowa.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that this confirms that the city council order the publication of a notice of
public hearing pertaining to the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget not less than
ten (10) days nor more than twenty (20) days prior to the date set for the hearing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute
said resolution.
