FOR TH� 2021 SANITARY SEWER & WATER MAIN EXTENSIONS PROJECT WHEREAS, the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa has contracted with Schrader Excavating & Grading Co. for the 2021 Sanitary Sewer & Water Main Extensions project; and WHEREAS, Hall & Hall Engineers has recommended approval of Change Order #1 as descl•ibed below. Water Main adjustments on Williams Blvd. and Fairfax Rd. Water main profile and alignment near the Williams Bivd & Fairfax Rd raiiroad crossings required adjustments. The proposed casing and carrier pipes beneath the railroad tracks needed lowered to avoid Crandic's fiber optic line along the Williams Blvd. railroad crossing, and Crandic's fiber optic and electric lines along the Fairfax Rd. railroad crossing. The water main going north and south from the raiiroad aiso needed adjusted as a result of lowering the casing/carrier pipe elevations. The water main near the E. Southview/Fairfax Rd. intersection also needed lowered to accommodate the future box culvert design and construction. This work was completed in July of 2021. Refer to attached ITC #1 and #2 for detailed descriptions of the additional work. The attached Change Order Request submitted by the Contractor provides the price increase for completing the additional work. The total Change Order 1 amount is $7,000.00.
