RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE WORK PERFORMED BY
SCHRADER EXCAVATING & GRADING CO., APPROVE THE
BALANCING CHANGE ORDER, & APPROVE THE FINAL
RETAINAGE PAY APPLICATION FOR THE 2021 SANITARY SEWER
& WATER MAIN EXTENSIONS PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, Iowa has contracted with Schrader Excavating &
Grading Co. for the 2021 Sanitary Sewer & Water Main Extensions project; and
WHEREAS, Hall & Hall Engineers has recolninended acceptance of the work
performed by Schrader Excavating & Grading Co.
WHEREAS, Hall & Hall Engineers has recoininended approval of the Balancing
Change Orderinaking the final contract ainount $1,848,270.29.
WHEREAS, Hall & Hall Engitleers has reco�ninended approval of the final Pay
Application paying retainage in the amount of $92,413.51.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, to accept the work performed by Schrader Excavating & Grading Co.; approve the
Balancing Change Order; and approve the final retainage Pay Application and issue a check for
$92,413.51.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed to execute
said resolution.

RE: 2021 Sanitary Sewer & Water Main Extensions Project — Recommendation to Accept
I hereby certify that the work performed by Schrader Excavating & Grading Co. has been
completed within substantial conformance to the project plans and specifications, and
recommend that the City of Fairfax accept the work completed by Schrader Excavating &
Grading Co.
The final payment application for this project pays all retainage. The amount of the final
payment is $92,413.51.
The final contract amount for this project is $1,848,270.29, which includes all Change Orders (4
total). Included with this memo to accept the project is the final retainage payment application,
balancing change order, subcontractor lien waivers, and maintenance bond.
