A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE
BUILDING VALUATION POLICY
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, Iowa desires to update the building valuations which
establishes fees for commercial building perinits; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, Iowa, has not changed these fees since September of
1999; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, Iowa shall establish new building valuation policy based
on the contractors stated cost of materials and labor. If, in the opinion of the building official, the
valuation stated is underestimated on the application,the Building Valuation Data- February 2020,
shall be used to figure the building valuations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Fairfax, Iowa, that they adopt a revised building valuation policy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,by the Fairfax City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa,
that the City Building Official is directed to distribute this policy to all applicants along with the
commercial building permit application.
