HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION NO. 2020-82 RESOLUTION 2020-82 RESOLUTION REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES DUE TO THE SEVERE STORM ON AUGUST 10, 2020. WHEREAS, the U. S. President declared a major disaster declaration for Iowa for the sever storm on August 10, 2020, and WHEREAS, Federal funding is available to eligible local governments on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storm in Benton, Boone, Cedar, Clinton, Dallas, Jasper, Johnson, Jones, Linn, Marshall, Muscatine, Polk, Poweshiek, Scott, Story and Tama counties. Also, Federal funding is available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures throughout the state NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, IOWA, to request reimbursement of eligible expenditures in response to the severe storm on August 10, 2020. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, IOWA they affirm above requests for reimbursement follow all formal published Federal and State of Iowa guidance on how the funds should be spent, and understand if the reimbursements are misrepresented, the local government will be liable for any applicable penalty and interest.
