A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THE CITY OF FAIRFAX".S ACTIVE PARTICIPATION
IN, AND THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF, MAXIMUM LOCAL SUPPORT OF EFFORTS
TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE HOUSING.
WHEREAS , there exists a national and local crisis in the
affordabilty of housing ; and
WHEREAS, homeownership provides benefits to the individual ,
the community, the state , and the nation; and
WHEREAS, there is evidence that some local , state and
national regulations may unduly impact the cost of housing ; and
WHEREAS , it is the desire and the intent of the Mayor
and members of the City Council to actively participate in
and encourage efforts to provide affordable housing, now
therefore be it
RESOLVED : That the City of Fairfax affirms its active
participation in, and the encouragement of efforts to provide
affordable housing.
