A RESOLUTION TO AMEND RESOLUTION 00-03-14-1 SETTING THE SALARY FOR
THE CITY CLERK AND COMPENSATION TIME FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY
OF FAIRFAX FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2000/2001.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF FAIRFAX,IOWA:
Section 1.The following positions named shall be paid the salaries or wages indicated and the
City Clerk is authorized to issue checks,less legally required or authorized deductions
from the amounts set out below,and make such contributions to IPER'S,FICA and
other purposes as required by law,or order of the City Council,all subject to audit
and/or review by the City Council.
CITY CLERK: $10.35 per hour @ 40 hours per week
LIBRARIAN: $9.35 per hour @ 23 hours per week
CHILDREN'S LIBRARIAN:$6.50 per hour a 13 hours per week
PART TIME HELP: $5,85 per hour G 3 hours per week
MAINTENANCE MEN:$12,43 per hour @ 40 hours per week
DEPUTY CITY CLERK:$5,000 maximum per year
PART TIME MAINTENANCE:$1.0,000 maximum per year
Section 2.OVERTIME:In lieu of overtime compensation for any hours worked in excess of
40 hours in a designated workweek,compensatory time off shat be taken within
2 weeks of the week in which overtime hours are worked,aftler,making a request for
such time off to the City Clerk,Mayor or City Council,if the use of compensatory time
off does not unduly disrupt the operations of the city.
Section 3. INSURANCE:The City shall provide the Clerk and Maintenance Men with Welhnark(Blue
Coss)Insurance.The City shall be responsible for the$500 deductible(Single Policy Only).
Section 4.PAID HOLIDAYS:The Clerk and Maintenance Men(2 full time)shall be paid for the following
Holidays:
NEW YEAR'S DAY,GOOD FRIDAY,MEMORIAL DAY,4 OF JULY,LABOR DAY,
THANKSGIVING,THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING, CITRMSTMAS EVE DAY AND
CHRISTMAS DAY,
Section 5. SICK DAYS AND BEREAVEMENT DAYS:The Clerk and Maintenance Men shall be allowed
four(4)sick days per year. Sick days may be accumulated up tothirty(30)days.
They shall be allowed three(3)bereavement days per year.
This includes immediate family members only(Spouse,Cbildreiii Parents,Brothers, Sisters and
In-Laws).They may not be accumulated.After five(5)consecutive sick days,at the discretion of
the Mayor,a doctor's verification may be requested.
Section 6. VACATION:Forty(40)hours after one(1)year,eighty(80)hours after three(3)years and
120 hours after seven(7'')years,
