HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION NO. 02-09-10-3 RESOLUTION 02-09-10-3 AUTHORIZING CONSTRUCTION FOR.STREET REPAIR WHEREAS,on August 21,2002 the City Clerk requested proposals for street repair work on Vanderbilt Street involving North and South of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and on the curve of Railroad and Reynolds Streets; and, WHEREAS,on a separate letter the City Clerk requested a proposal for street work on Church Street from Highway 151 to Vanderbilt Street;and, WHEREAS,on August 28,2002 the City Clerk sent an amendment amending the two(2)original requests as follows: 1. Removed the segment of Vanderbilt Street North of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. 2. Clarified the work proposed for each segment. 3. Included traffic control provisions. 4. Clarified the cost responsibility for the Union Pacific Railroad. 5. Provided for consideration for combining the two(2)proposals and accepting one(1) proposal for a discounted price.; and, WHEREAS,on Wednesday, September 04,2002 Mayor Bill Voss,City Clerk Mary Pacha and City Engineer Dick Ransom opened the proposals submitted;and, WHEREAS,the proposals were reviewed and it is recommended that the street repair work proposal submitted by Cedar Valley Asphalt as the combined proposal in the amount of$20,440.00 be accepted by the City;and, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,Iowa that the proposals were reviewed and it is recommended that the street repair work proposal submitted by Cedar' Valley Asphalt as the combined proposal in the amount of$20,440.00 be accepted by the City.
