RESOLUTION REPLACING RESOLUTION 0303-11-3
WHEREAS, Resolution 03-03-11-3 designating the percentage of local sales and services tax.
revenues to be devoted to property tax relief in the event such tax is unposed in the City of Fairfax, Linn
County,Iowa,and designating the proposed use of the remainder of such revenues; and,
WHEREAS, Linn Co. auditor obtained information from the state tax authorities in regards to
having each jurisdiction in Linn Co. choosing its own sunset,or ending date; and,
WHEREAS, with this new infarmation obtained after the approval of Resolution 03-03-11-3, the
attached Resolution 03-03-17-1 is replacing Resolution 03-03-11-3;and,
NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa,
that the City Clerk be and is hereby instructed to deliver this Resolution to the Linn County Commissioner
of Elections without delay.

2"3: i RAESOLU'TION�DESIGNATING THE PERCENTAGE OF LOCAL 'SALES AND SERVICES TAX
INiq NO BE DEVOTED O PROPERTY TAX RELIEF IN THE EVENT SUCH TAX IS
IMPOSED IN THE CITY OF ' LINN COUNTY, (IOWA, AND DESIGNATING
THE PROPOSED USE OF THE (REMAINDER OF SUCH REVENUES.
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the Council of the City of Cedar Rapids, Iowa,
the Linn County Board of Supervisors has directed the Linn County Auditor to submit the
question of the imposition of a one percent [1%] local sales and services tax in the
incorporated and unincorporated areas of Linn County, on .June 10, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Law authorizing imposition of the tax allows jurisdictions wherein
the tax would be imposed to individually designate what percentage or amount of local
sates and services tax revenues each wilt devote to property tax relief and what uses it
will put the remainder of said tax revenue to, if any; and
WHEREAS, the City Couincil of the City of C"li " Linn County, Iowa,
has been advised and does believe it would be in the best interest of the City of
i , Linn County, Iowa, to matte a designation as to the property tax
re ief and use the remaining local sales and services tax revenues.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT (RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF aiL h
LINN COUNTY, IOWA:
That Revenues from a local sates and services tax which may be imposed in this city
on and as of January 1, 20014, shalt be allocated as follows::
.1. % For Property Tax Relief [Any number 10%-100%1
2. The specific purposes for which the revenues shall otherwise be
