RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 8 FOR THE
WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROGRAM, PHASE I IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa has contracted with Rathje Construction
Co. for the Water Main Replacement Program, Phase I Improvements, within the corporate
limits; and
WHEREAS, Hall and Hall Engineers, Inc., has recommended approval of Change Order
No. 8, to amend the contract by accepting Item 41 as listed below for a total increase to the
contract in the amount of$2,480.34:
Item #1: Revisions to the water main configuration at the intersection of
Vanderbilt Street and Main Street, including the connection of the existing 4" and 6" water
mains to the new 8"water main, for a total increase to the contract in the amount of$2,480.34.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, to approve Change Order No. 8 for the Water Main Replacement Program, Phase I
Improvements which will result in an amendment to the contract as described in the previously
listed Item 41 for a total increase to the contract in the amount of$2,480.34 to make a revised
total construction contract cost amount of$356,234.24.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
resolution.
