PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF FIRETRUCKS
WHEREAS, any proceeds from the sale of property per the Code of Iowa must be deposited into
the general fund of the City;and,
WHEREAS,the City Council authorized Chief Sankot to sell the 1969 tanker and 1973 pumper at,
the December 9,2003 meeting;and,
WHEREAS, Chief Sankot asked the Council if the proceedsfrom thesale of the trucks could go
back to the fire department since the fire department purchased the trucks from their budget;and,
WHEREAS,the fire department would purchase an air compressor fox filling air packs and spare
bottles with the proceeds; and,
WHEREAS,the City Council directed the City Clerk for the January 13,2004 meeting to create a
resolution to have the proceeds from the sale of the trucks to be given to the fire department and that the
fire department is authorized to use the proceeds to purchase an air compressor for filling air packs and
spare bottles;and,
NOW THEREFORE..RE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of Fairfax,Iowa that the Mayor
and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Resolution.
