A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CITY COUNCIL'S INTENT TO
APPOINT TO FILL THE VACANCY CREATED BY THE RESIGNATION
OF MIKE GLICK
WHEREAS, On November 4, 2003, Mike Glick was elected as a Council Member for
the City of Fairfax; and
WHEREAS, Councilor. Glick's Council term expires December 31, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Councilor Glick has resigned his Council seat, effective on October 14
2005, creating a vacancy; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Code 19-99 Supplement, Chapter 372.13 states that the Council can
choose-to appoint or.call for a special_election to fill a vacancy.
BE IT RESOLVED, By the City.Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that the City
Council intends to appoint a citizen to fill the vacancy on the City Council created by Mike
Glick's resignation.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,By the Fairfax City Council of
the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
execute said Resolution.

Dear Mayor Bill Voss,
I am writing to express interest in the open position on the Fairfax City Council. I would like to be
considered for the opening. I feel my position on the Fairfax Fire Department as well as having
background in business make me a qualified candidate for the position. I would like to see the city of
Fairfax grow with the tames while at the same time maintaining the small town feel and community
orientation that is so pervasive in town. I look forward to having an opportunity to be a part of the
leadership that continues to foster our small town feel while at the same time providing the citizens of
Fairfax with the benefits of larger communities. Whether it be the planned sewer upgrade,or through
the addition of green spaces such as parks and recreation areas, the City of Fairfax is in a very
exciting time of growth and opportunity. I hope this request will be met favorably by the council. I
look forward to being a part of the Fairfax of today and the very bright future.
