SETTING TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE PURPOSE OF
SOLICITING WRITTEN AND ORAL COMMENTS ON THE CITY'S PROPOSED
AMENDMENT TO FISCAL YEAR 2008-2009 BUDGET
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, has prepared an amendment
to the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2008-2009; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Code 384.16.3 requires a public hearing on the proposed amended
budget where any resident or taxpayer of the City may present to the Council objections to any
part of the budget amendment for the current fiscal year or arguments in favor of any part of the
budget before its adoption and certification to the county auditor; and
WHEREAS, Interested residents of taxpayers having comments for or against these
proposals may appear and be heard at the public hearing at the City Council meeting on March
10, 2009, at 7:00 PM at Fairfax City Hall, 525 Vanderbilt Street,Fairfax, Iowa; and
BE IT RESOLVED, By the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that this confirms
that the Council order the publication of a notice of public hearing pertaining to the adoption of
the Fiscal Year 2008.-2009 Amended Budget not less than ten (10) days nor more than twenty
(20) days prior to the date set for the hearing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, By the City Council of the
City of Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
execute said Resolution.
