RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 FOR THE
PRAIRIE CREEK ESTATES DRAINAGE SWALE AND STORM WATER
DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa has contracted with Schrader
Excavating and Grading Co., Inc. for the Prairie Creek Estates Drainage Swale and Storm
Water Drainage Improvements Project, within the corporate limits; and
WHEREAS, Hall and Hall Engineers, Inc., has recommended approval of
Change Order No. 1, to increase the contract amount $4,868.75 to add imported topsoil
and rip par over engineering fabric and to decrease the contract amount by $7,407.90 to
finalize the balancing of actual quantities needed, making the net difference to the
contract to be a decrease of $2,539.15.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, to approve Change Order No. 1 for the Prairie Creek Estates Drainage
Swale and Storm Water Drainage Improvements Project which will result in an decrease
of $2,539.15 to make a revised total contract cost amount of $22,255.09.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
execute said resolution.

request is acceptable in the amount of $22,255.09. Please note the retainage is being
released with this final pay estimate.
