RESOLUTION NO. 2011-52
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENGINEERING SERVICES TO PROCEED
WITH PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATIONS AND PREPARATION
OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF
A PARCEL OF FARM GROUND
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has purchased and paid for a parcel of farm
ground located south of Linn Street in Fairfax; and
WHEREAS, the Fairfax City Council has discussed future development ideas for
this parcel of ground and has decided that the first phase of this development will be for a
sports and park project; and
WHEREAS, this area is in the Urban Renewal District and therefore TIF
Revenues are available to repay the debt to develop this ground.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the
City of Fairfax, Iowa, to authorize engineering services to proceed with preliminary
investigations and the preparation of plans and specifications for development of the
parcel of farm ground owned by the City of Fairfax and located south of Linn Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the City of Fairfax does hereby enter into a Project Scope, Schedule,
and Engineering Services Agreement with Hall and Hall Engineers, Inc. for these needed
engineering services.
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and
directed to execute said resolution.
