RESOLUTION SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC
HEARING FOR THE PURPOSE OF SOLICITING WRITTEN AND
ORAL COMMENTS ON A PROPOSAL TO RENEW FOR TWENTY-
FIVE (25) YEAR PERIOD A NON-EXCLUSIVE NATURAL GAS
SUPPLY, OPERATION AND MATINTENANCE FRANCISE WITH
MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has received a request from. MidAraeri.can
Energy to grant thein a twenty-five (25) year non-exclusive natural gas supply, operation,
and :maintenance franchise, and
WHEREAS, Iowa Code requires a public hearing concerning this proposed
franchise agreement; and
WHEREAS, interested residents or taxpayers having comments for or against the
proposed franchise agreement may appear and be heard at the public hearing at the city
council meeting on August 1.3, 2013, at 7;00 PM at the Fairfax. City Hall, at 525
Vanderbilt Street, Fairfax, Iowa.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that this confirms that the city council order the publication of a notice of
public hearing pertaining to a franchise agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and
directed to execute said resolution.
