FOR THE PHASE .1, EAST CEMETERY .ROAM RECONSTRUCTION, DRAINAGE, STORM SEWER, WATER MAIN, AND SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS PROTECT WHEREAS, the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa has contracted with Ricklefs Excavating, Ltd. for the Phase 1 East Cemetery Road Reconstruction, Drainage, Storm Sewer, Water Main, and Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project, within the corporate limits; and WI�.+RE,AS, Mall and Mall. Engineers, Inc:., has recommended alaproval of Change Order No. 1 from Ricklefs Excavating, Ltd. The current contract amount is $1,411,555.00. This Change Order No. 1 is a deduction to the contract amount of $94,380.90,making the new contract amount $1,317,174.10 as described below: The following are items being adjusted and/or added to the contract, the actual total construction cost savings will be seen with reduced quantities of various items_ ITEM #1: CHANGE IN UNIT PRICE -8" Dia. PVC Truss Sanitary Sewer Gravity Main Due to reducing the amount of 8" Dia. PVS Truss Sanitary Sewer Gravity Main, there is an additional cost associated with the dewatering which was spread out over the original sanitary sewer length. This item will increase the unit price by$11.10 per LF for the remaining sanitary sewer. New unit price with this change is$91.10 per LF. ITEM#2: CHANGE IN I UNIT PRICE - 24" Dia. RCP Sanitary Sewer Gravity Main Due to reducing the amount of 24" Dia. RCP Sanitary Sewer Gravity Main, there is an additional cost associated with the dewatering which was spread out over the original sanitary sewer length. This item will increase the unit price by$11.00 per LF for the remaining sanitary sewer. New Unit Price with this change is$171.00 per LF. ITEM #3: CHANGE IN I UNIT PRICE-24" Dia. RCP (or PVC)Sanitary Sewer Gravity Main The contractor requested a change in the pipe material for the 24" Dia. RCP (or PVC) Sanitary Sewer Gravity Main to Contech A-2000, this pipe material is acceptable per the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Design Standards and there is a cost savings associated with this change. This item will decrease the unit price by$10.50 per LF. The new unit price with this change and change from Item # 2 is $160.50 per LF. ITEM#4 ADD BID ITEM 8" Dia PVC Sanitary Sewer(C-900)- Directionally Drilled This item is being added to directionally drill the sanitary sewer between two residentiallots to reduce the overall sanitary sewer quantities. The unit price is $110.00 per LIF with an estimated quantity of 365 LF. ITEM #5 ADD BID ITEM 8" Dia PVC Water Main (C-900)-- Directionally Drilled Under Casey's Drives This item is being added to directionally drill the water main under the Casey's Drives rather than using an open cut installation. The unit price is$37.29 per LF with an estimated quantity of 300 LF. ITEM #6 ADD BID ITEM -12" Dia PVC Water Main (C-900) Directionally Drilled Under Tributary to Prairie Creek This item is being added to directionally drill the water main under the tributary to Prairie Creek rather than installing the water main in steel casing pipe.
