RESOLUTION APPROVING THE INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TIIE CITY
OF FAIRFAX BEGINNING APRIL 1,2014
WHEREAS, the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa desires to have adequate
insurance coverage for the City of Fairfax's properties and activities; and
WHEREAS, Wilson-Hite Insurance, Inc. is the City of Fairfax's insurance agent
and has presented information about the April 1, 2014 renewal; and
WHEREAS, the insurance proposal is for coverage through Continental Western
Insurance Company, with their City PAIS Insurance Program which includes property,
portable equipment, general liability, automobile, connnercial umbrella, and workers
compensation insurance coverages for an annual premium of$37,649.00; and
WHEREAS, the insurance proposal is for coverage through Continental Western
Insurance Company with their Fire Department PAK which 'includes general and
professional liability, automobile, portable equipment/inland marine, and property
insurance coverages for the Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department for an annual premium
of$9,864.00; and
WHERREAS, the insurance proposal is for coverage through Provident Life and
Accident for death and impairment, income protection, first week disability, and
dependent child benetit insurance for the Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department tor, an
aiinual premium of$750.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the City of Fairfax hereby agrees to renew the City of Fairfax's
insurance coverages, for a current annual premium total of$48,263.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that city staff is hereby directed to
communicate to Wilson-Hite Insurance, Inc. any needed changes in the insurance
coverages during the year. I
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and, directed to
execute this resolution of approval.
