HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION NO. 2015-20 RESOLUTION NO. 2015a© RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER#11 FOR THE FAIRFAX TRAIL PROJECT ALONG EAST SIDE OF UNNAMED TRIBUTARY TO PRAIRIE CREEK, IDOT PROJECT NUMBER STP-E-2462(601) FROM TAYLOR CONSTRUCTION, INC. WHEREAS, the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa has contracted with Taylor Construction, Inc. for the Fairfax Trail along East Side of Unnamed Tributary to Prairie Creek between East Cemetery Road and Front Street in the City of Fairfax; and WHEREAS, Hall and Hall Engineers, Inc., has recommended approval of Change Order No. 11 from Taylor Construction, Inc. The current contract amount is $857,296.33. This Change Order No. 11 is an addition to the contract amount of $1,980.00, making the new contract amount $859.276.33 as described below: A-Description of change to be made or extra work to be done: 7016—Addition to the Contract for Urban Seeding and Fertilizing (Item Code 2601-2636044)for the disturbed areas south of Prairie Creek. Urban Seeding shall be completed per the GS-12003 Specifications, Effective Date of October 15, 2013, Section 2601.03. The Seed Mixture shall be per Section 2601.03.C.4—Urban Seeding of the GS-12003 Specifications, Effective Date October 15,2013. The area for the Urban Seed bed Preparation and Urban Seeding and Fertilizing located south of Prairie Creek is estimated at approximately 0.6 Acre. The disturbed areas north of Prairie Creek shall be seeded and fertilized with the rural seed mix and fertilizing per the original contract documents. Additional Mobilization shall not be considered as part of this change order because this is a change in the product only, and not an additional work item. B—Reason for change or extra work: Prior to this project, the disturbed area (City Property) located south of Prairie Creek was maintained as a City park,with the grass type and height kept consistent with the residential properties to the south of S. Front Street. The Urban Seed Mixture will allow the City to maintain this area as it had prior to this project. C-1 —Settlement for cost of work to be made as follows: Change Order No. 11 7015 Addition to the Contract for Urban Seeding&Fertilization to be paid at$3,300.00 per Acre at 0.6 Acre: 0.6 ACRE X$3,300.00/ACRE=$1,980.00 C-2—Justification for cost(s) Prior to this project, the disturbed area (City Property) located south of Prairie Creek was maintained as a City park,with the grass type and height kept consistent with the residential properties to the south of S. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed to execute said resolution.
