RESOLUTION APPROVING A QUOTE FOR DRAINAGE
IMPROVEMENTS IN THE KARAL'S ADDITIONS IN THE CITY OF
FAIRFAX, LINN COUNTY, IOWA
WHEREAS, the businesses in the Karat's Additions have approached the City of Fairfax
and asked the City to do something to help drainage in the area; and
WHEREAS,the City of Fairfax requested Hall and Hall Engineers, Inc. to prepare plans
and request quotes for drainage improvements in this area; and
WHEREAS,the City of Fairfax has met or will be meeting with property owners to
discuss their responsibilities for cost sharing for part of the improvements and on-going
maintenance of the area; and
WHEREAS,the City of Fairfax has prepared storm water drainage easement agreements
for the following property and business owners and requires each owner to enter into an
agreement before any work will be completed:
• Judith A. Heisler
• Joseph Ray and Roxane Lee Blood
• Starr Real Estate Holdings, LLC
• Melody Vance
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FAIRFAX, IOWA, that the quote of$106,327.00 from Dave Schmitt Construction is
accepted for the drainage improvements in Karat's Additions in the City of Fairfax, Linn County,
Iowa.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Fairfax does not authorize this work until
they have a signed, executed storm water drainage easement agreement with all of the following
property and business owners:
• Judith A. Heisler
• Joseph Ray and Roxane Lee Blood
• Stark Real Estate Holdings, LLC
• Melody Vance
Passed and approved this 14th day of April, 2015.
