RESOLUTION SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC
HEARINGS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SOLICITING WRITTEN AND
ORAL COMMENTS ON A REZONING REQUEST
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has requested a zoning change from 9RS Single
Family Residential to CN Conservation/Public Use for property described as:
THE SOUTH 1.00 FEET OF LOT 7, MURPHY'S FIRST ADDITION TO FAIRFAX,
IOWA AND ALL LOT 6, MURPHY'S FIRST ADDITION TO FAIRFAX, IOWA
EXCEPT THAT PART OF LOT 6 DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT
THE NW CORNER, OF SAID LOT 6; THENCE S-LY ALONG THE WEST I.,INE OF
SAID LOT 6, 8 8.5 6 FEET; THENCE E-LY ALONG A LINE PARALLEL TO AND
8 8.5 6 FEET SOUTH OF TME NORTH LINE OF SAID LOT 6, 70 FEET; THENCE N-
LY ALONG A LINE PARALLEL TO AND 70 FEET EAST OF THE WEST LINE OF
SAID LOT 6, 88.56 FEET TO THE NORTH LINE OF SAID LOT 6; THENCE W-LY
ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF SAID LOT 6, 70 FEET TO THE POINT OF
BEGINNING.; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Code requires a public hearing concerning rezoning of this
property; and

WHEREAS, interested residents or taxpayers having comments for of against the
proposed rezoning may appear and be heard at the public heating at the city council
meeting on June 9, 2015, at 7:00 PM at the Fairfax City Hall, at 525 Vanderbilt Street,
Fairfax, Iowa.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that this confirms that the city council order the publication of a notice of
public hearing pertaining to this rezoning request on behalf of the City of Fairfax.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and
directed to execute said resolution.
