RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. I FROM
DAVE SC11MITT CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC.
FOR THE ICARAL'S DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council of Fairfax, Iowa has contracted with Dave Schmitt
Construction Company, Inc. for the Karat's Drainage Improvements Project, within the
corporate limits; and
WHEREAS, Hall and Hall Engineers, Inc., has recommended approval of
Change Order No. 1 from Dave Schmitt Construction Company, Inc. The current
contract amount is $106,327.00. This Change Order No. 1 is a subtraction to the contract
amount of$7,362.50, making the new contract amount$98,964.50 as described below:
ITEM#1: Removal of Fencing Items from City Contract.
Melody Vance of Vance's Storage has requested that she tale care of the fencing removal
and installation items independently of the original City contract. The following
quantities are therefore adjusted as follows:
® Line item 7, "Remove (and Dispose of, Off-Site) Existing Chain Link Fence"
decreased from 240 LF to 0 LF for a decrease of$2.75/LF x 240 LF =$660.00.
• Line item. 8, "6' High.Chain Link.Fence with Barb Wire along the Top" decreased
from 350 LF to 0 LF for a decrease of$19.15/LF x 350 LF -- $6,702.50.
The total adjusted Change Order 1 amount is ($7,362.50).
Original Contract Amount: $106,327.00
C.O. #l, Item 1 ($7,352.50)
Revised Contract Amount: $98,964.50
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, to approve Change Order No. I .Dave Schmitt Construction,Company, Inc.
t'or the Karal's Drainage Improvements Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and
directed to execute said resolution,
