RESOLUTION HIRING THE LAW FIRM OF LILLIS O'MALLEY
OLSON MANNING POSE TEMPLEMAN LLP
WHEREAS,the City of Fairfax filed paperwork with the City Development Board
for an annexation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Cedar Rapids requested a delay during the January 13,
2016, City Development Board meeting; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has developers ready to start a new development
within the annexation area and therefore does not want to see any delay in the annexation;
and
WHEREAS, the law firm of Lillis O'Malley Olson Manning Pose Templeman
LLP has been recommended to the City of Fairfax as a firm knowledgeable with annexation
law and they are willing to represent the City of Fairfax.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the City of Fairfax hire the law firm of Lillis O'Malley Olson Manning
Pose Templeman LLP to represent the City of Fairfax interests in the current annexation
action.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed
to execute said resolution.
