A RESOLUTION TO PURCHASE TAX CERTIFICATE FOR 510
CHURCH STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has maintained property since 2009
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax incurred the demolition costs in 2009 for nuisance
abatement at this property of$22,331.63
WHEREAS, current value of the City of Fairfax's tax lien against this property is
approximately $37,413.63
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax's tax lien is included in a 2014 Linn County owned tax
certificate of which the current value is approximately $72,035.16
WHEREAS, a second tax certificate was issued in 2015 by Linn County for $353.00,
current value of$1059.00 plus interest at 2% monthly
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax hereby requests authority to purchase the 2015 tax
certificate from ACC6 LLC in order to secure the expenses incurred to date
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax may secure a deed for 510 Church Street to sell on the
open market for the amount owed the City against this property at a future date
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, that the 2015 tax certificate, held by ACC6 LLC, for the property addressed 510 Church
Street, is hereby requested to be purchased by the City of Fairfax.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby
authorized and directed to execute said resolution.
