HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION NO. 2017-88 RESOLUTION NO. 2017-88 RESOLUTION APPROVING WAGES FOR CITY EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, during the January 10, 2017, city council meeting, the City Council reviewed non-library employee current wage rates and established wages effective January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017; and WHEREAS, during the March 14, 2017, city council meeting,the City Council reviewed employee compensation increases tied to water and sanitary sewer system certifications completed satisfactorily and has adopted the schedule as shown below. Employees will receive permission from the City Council before starting to obtain a new certification; and Grade 1 Certification for Water Treatment $.50 per hour Grade 1 Certification for Water Distribution $.50 per hour Grade 1 Certification for Waste Water Treatment $.50 per hour Grade 2 Certification for Water Treatment $.50 per hour Grade 2 Certification for Water Distribution $.50 per hour Grade 2 Certification for Waste Water Treatment $.50 per hour Grade 3 Certification for Waste Water Treatment $1.00 per hour WHEREAS, the Library Board of Trustees established wages for the 17-18 Fiscal Year for the library employees during their meeting on June 6, 2017, and made a 3.25% increase for all library employees effective as of July 1, 2017; and WHEREAS, effective August 14, 2017, Kim Donaldson was hired as a regular full-time Office Assistant employee. Kim had been filling in on a full-time temporary employee in this position since May 15, 2017. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the wages were set for each employee as follows: Lynn Miller, Public Works Supervisor $25.82 per hour, effective March 14, 2017 Dave Yanecek, Public Works II-All Support $27.31 per hour, effective March 14, 2017 Kevin Stensland, $35.20 per hour, effective January 1, 2017 Public Works II-Certified Water and Waste Water Brian Merta, Public Works II $22.22 per hour, effective March 14, 2017 Michael Rammelsberg, Public Works II $15.00 per hour, effective January 16, 2017 Cynthia Stimson, City Clerk/Treasurer $25.98 per hour, effective January 1, 2017 Kathy Everett, Deputy City Clerk $16.77 per hour, effective January 1, 2017 Kim Donaldson, Office Assistant $16.00 per hour, effective August 14, 2017 Kim Donaldson, Temporary Office Assistant $15.00 per hour, effective May 15, 2017 Chris Philipp, Building Department Official $23.33 per hour, effective January 1, 2017 William Barry, Part-time Seasonal $13.05 per hour, effective January 1, 2017 Cathy Bayne, Library Director $22.23 per hour, effective July 1, 2017 Beth Wilz, Librarian Assistant $15.88 per hour, effective July 1, 2017 Joel Barnhart, Librarian Assistant $14.29 per hour, effective July 1, 2017 R. Cheryl Koonts, Librarian Assistant $12.70 per hour, effective July 1, 2017 Shannon Chapman, Library Janitor $13.23 per hour, effective July 1, 2017 Michael Sankot, Fire Chief $2,000 per year salary, plus $5.00 per call EMS Fire Department Officer $500.00 per year salary, phis $5.00 per call State Reporting Fire Department Officer $500.00 per year salary, plus $5.00 per call Other Fire Department Officers $100.00 per year salary, plus $5.00 per call Fire Department Members $5.00 per call BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city staff is hereby authorized to issue payroll checks and make all required supporting payroll payments as required per the personnel manual or required by law. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Resolution.
