A RESOLUTION TO CONSIDER PLAN TO BE PRESENTED TO LINN
COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS REGARDING TAX LIEN AT 510
CHURCH STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax is pursuing a plan to acquire a tax deed for the property
at 510 Church Street and sell said property to Costigan Construction pursuant to Resolution No.
2017-95; and
WHEREAS, in order to obtain the tax deed the City must serve a Notice of Expiration of
Right of Redemption under Iowa Code § 447.9;and
WHEREAS, The Notice of Expiration of Right of Redemption must be signed by a city
officer designated by resolution of the council; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, that Building Administrator Chris Philipp is designated to sign the Notice of Expiration of
Right of Redemption for the property commonly known as 510 Church Street, legal description
of Lot 6, Block 5, Vanderbilt, Linn County, Iowa, pursuant to Iowa Code § 447.9.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby
authorized and directed to execute said resolution.
