RESOLUTION FOR THE SELECTION OF THE PROPOSED SPLASH
PAI) EQUIPMENT SUPPLIER AND THE SPLASH PAD PLAN'
FEATURES
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax has established a Splash Pad Committee for the
purposes of overseeing the planning, design and construction of a splash pad at the City's Park
and Athletic Complex; and
WHEREAS, based upon the Splash Pad Committees recommendations, the City has
requested public proposals from splash pad equipment suppliers for a base layout with splash
pad play features that provide flows not to exceed 225 gallons per minute per sequence, and an
alternate layout (Option 1) for splash pad play features with a "sports" theme, as well as an
alternate (Option 2) for a"shade" structure; and
WHEREAS,the City has received proposals from four different splash pad equipment
suppliers; and
WHEREAS, said Splash Pad Committee has reviewed the four separate proposals and
recommends the City select Outdoor Recreation Products and their Alternate Option No. 1 (the
sports themed package) with a quote in the amount of$154,866.00. The Splash Pad Committee
further recommends that the City reject Option No. 2 (shade structure). The Splash Pad
Committee shall work with Outdoor Recreation Products regarding the details of their proposed
sports themed package and to finalize the contract for the splash pad equipment and play
features.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa,to select Outdoor Recreation Products and their Alternate Option No. 1 (the sports themed
package) in the amount of$154,866.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, that the Splash Pad Committee are hereby authorized and directed to work with Outdoor
Recreation Products regarding the details of their proposed sports themed package and to
finalize the contract for the splash pad equipment and play features.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed to execute
said resolution.
