RESOLUTION FOR THE REJECTION OF THE SPLASH PAD
CONSTRUCTION BID
WHEREAS,the City received one bid for the construction of the splash pad. The one
bid was received from Boomerang Corp. in the amount of$362,511.00 for the base bid and
$14,880.00 for the alternate bid items; and
WHEREAS,the Splash Pad Committee has reviewed the bid and recommends the City
reject the bid. The base bid price received from Boomerang Corp. is $92,511.00 higher than
the Engineer's estimate.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, to reject the bid from Boomerang Corp.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, that the Splash Pad Committee are hereby authorized and directed to explore ways of
bringing the project cost within the funds available and develop a schedule for re-bidding the
project at a later date.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Fairfax City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Iowa, that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed to execute
said resolution.
