HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/11/1936 Council Minutes TOWN OF FAIRFAX MINUTES OF FIRST MEETING OF COUNCIL. NOW, TO-WIT, this 31st day of August, A. D., 1936, at the hour of 12:00 o 'clock noon, the town council of the town of Fairfax, Iowa, as duly elected, assembled for the purpose of organization under the provisions of Chapter 287 of the Code of Iowa, of 1935, and upon motion of Councilman Chas J. Dvorak, seconded by councilman e. E. Heaton, this meeting was duly recessed until September 11, 1936, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M., to re-assemble in the offices of the Fairfax State Savings Bank in Fairfax, Iowa. AND NOW, TO-WIT, this 11th day of September, A. D., 1936, the said Council of the Town of Fairfax, Iowa re-assembled, there being present all members of said council, and all members of said council were duly sworn in and qualified as required by law, and on motion of Councilman C. J. Knickerbocker, seconded by councilman Chas J. Dvorak, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the council of the town of Fairfax meet at 7:30 o'clock P. M., on the 1st Monday in each month hereafter, at the offices of the Fairfax State Savings Bank in Fairfax, Iowa or at such other place as the members of the council deem more convenient. On motion of councilman C. E. Heaton, seconded by councilman John Wavra, and unanimously carried, it was resolved that special meetings of the council may be called at any time the P,Mayor deems, proper. On motion of councilman Moynihan, seconded by councilman Knickerbocker, and unanimously carried, it was resolved that John L. Krall be appointed Clerk of the Town of Fairfax, to serve until the next general election On motion of councilman Dvorak, seconded by councilman Heaton, and unanimously carried, it was resolved that the said John L. Krall maintain a journal of all proceedings of this council and keep custody of all papers, records and other instruments. 2 There being no further business to come before this meet- ing '''on Motion of councilman Wavra, seconded by councilman Moynihan, and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned. •wn Clerk i Mayor
