HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/19/1937 Council Minutes 16 July 19, 1937 NOW, TO-WIT, this 19th day of July, A. D., 1937 at the hour of 7:30 P. M. the Council of the Town of Fairfax, Iowa met in regular session with Mayor Behle presiding. All Councilmen were present. On motion by councilman, C. J. Knickerbocker, Seconded by Council- man Frank Moynihan and unanimously carried the contract with Anna E. Adams for the purchase of the South Twenty-five feet of Lot 5, Block 2, town of Fairfax at the price of *150.00 was approved. Bids by various persons and firms for Fire Truck Chassis were read and discussed. It appeared the Shaeffer Auto Co. on a bid submitted thru Don G. Follett of Nevada, Iowa was the low bidder and on motion by councilman C. E. Heaton, seconded by Councilman John Wavra and unanimously carried the Mayor and the Clerk were instructed, authorized and empowered to complete the contract for the Dodge truck, and if same was not available at the price submitted said Mayor and Clerk were to complete contract for some other truck. The Clerk was authorized and instructed to post notices asking for bids on the building located on lot purchased of Mrs Adams. On motion of Councilan Moynihan, seconded by councilman Dvorak and unanimously carried the meeting adjourned. ' Mayor Clerk
