j On this 7th day of Aug. , 1939 the Council of the
Town of Fairfax, Iowa met in regular session with Mayor
Beh.le presiding. The meeting was called to order at
8 P. M.
Councilmen present: C. J. Knickerbocker, Chas J.
Dvorak, John Wavra and Frank J. Moynihan..
Councilman absent: C. E. Heaton. �
j The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
approved.
A hill from the League of Iowa Municipalities for
$10.00 covering dues to Aug. 1, 1940 was read and on mention
of C. J. Dvorak., Seconded by Councilman John Wavra and unani-
mously carried the bill was approved and ordered paid.
H. P. Losey appeared before the Council requesting some
relief from the dust and the noise of the trucks at ni/ght
caused by hauling of crushed rock from the Knickerbocker
quarry. The Mayor and Council agreed they would take
the matter under consideration, make an investigation as
to what remedy might be ha d and determine what could be
done to relieve the problem.
Moved by Councilman John Wavra, ,Seconded by Councilman
Frank Moynihan and unanimously carried to gravel the street
from the Methodist Church east to the town limits , the gavel.
to be furnished and deli.vereO by the Concrete Materials
Co. from the Knickerbocker Quarry, and the price not to
exceed 90¢ per yard delivered.
Moved by Councilman C. J. Knickerbocker, Seconded by
Councilman John Wavra and unanimously carriedX to adopt the
budget eatimea.te as published and to levy tax as provided
for in the a.dvertis 'ed budget estimate. No taxpayer
appeared to object to the proposed tai; budget.
It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried to
adjourn.
