Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax, Iowa
held this 22nd day of July, 1940.
Mayor, Wm. Behle, called the meeting to order at 7 : 60 P.M
and the following Councilmen were present:
Frank Moynihan, Wm. E. Dvorak, C. J. Knickerbocker and
Chas J. Dvorak.
Councilman, C. E. Heaton,, was absent.,
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
A bill from the Iowa Road Building Company for 12, 699 gallons
of road oil in the sum of $866. 36 was read. This bill to cover
oil and cost of applying same to the streets .
It was -moved by Councilman Frank Moynihan, seconded by Council-
man C . J. Dvorak, and unanimously carried to pay the above bill.
The freight to be paid the local agent of the G. M. & St. Paul
Railway Company and deducted from the above bill.
It was moved by Councilman, G. J. Knickerbocker,, seconded by
Councilman 'fm. E. Dvoark and unanimously carried to write a letter
to Mr. Livingston, Resident eingineer for the Iowa ftighway
Commission asking that they furnish a culvert and about 500
yards of dirt for Losey road to complete the work on said
road which was left undone at the time the road was opened
up.
It was moved by Councilman, Chas J. Dvorak, seconded by
Councilman, Frank Moynihan and unanimously carried to write
a letter to the C. M.. &. St. Paul Railway Compay requesting
that the crossing at the Railroad at the southeast part of
Fairfax be fixed up to eliminate the hump at the tracks.
There being no objections filed and no person appeared
to object to the budget as recommended and advertised it was
moved by Councilman C. J. Knickerbocker, seconded by Councilman
Wm. E. Dvorak and unanimously carried to :adopt the budget as
advertisid.
There being no further business to come before the
meeting it was adjourned.
