Regular meeting of the Totrn Council of the Town of Fairf�yx,
Io:ara, held this 4th day of Nov. , 1940.
Mayor, Wm. Behle, called the meeting to order at 7 ; 30 p., M.
Councilmen Present : Wm. E. Dvorak, C. J. Knickerbocker,
Chas J. Dvorak and C. E. Heaton.
Councilman absent: Frank Moynihan...
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
approved.
Bill. for $5.45 by Denniaton Partridge Co . for material.
furnished and Bill. for $5. 25 by Wm. G. Zamastil for labor in
naking necessary repairs to sidewalk in fron the the lefebure
property were read and ordered paid.
It was moved by Councilman, G. J. Knickerbocker, Seconded
by Councilman, G. E. Heaton, and unanimously carried to tax the
the sum of $10. 70, being the actual cost of repairing sidewalk
In front of the Lefebure Buildgin, to property described as:
Lots 5 & 6 and S. 16ft of Lot 4, Block 1.,, Town of Fairfax,
Formerly Vanderbilt, and the Clerk is hereby authorized and in-
structed to certify to the County Auditor said tax in the sure
of $10. 70.
Due to Illness, Marshal, Wm. C. Z--mastil, resigned and the
Council accepted said resignation.
Mayor Behle appointed L. R. Crowell as Marshall to fill the
vacancy and it was moved., seconded and unanimously carried to
approve the appointment of L. R. Crowell as Yiarshal .
It was moved:, seconded a d unanimously carried that the
practice of allowing men/ in ` fig the Firemen' s meeting who
do not live -within the corporate limits of the Town of Fairfax
be discontinued:. It being the opinion that payment of.. such
fees to men who do not reside within the corporate limits of
the tovrn is not legal.
It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried to approve
the appointment of Martin Moynihan and James L. Claflin as Firemen
to fill vacancies in the membership of the Fairfax Fire Departmont.
It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that Mayor
Wm. Behle and Councilman C. J. Knickvr�ocker be appointed as a
committee, with power to act, to secure gravel for the new fill
on Losey road.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
