April 7 , 1941.
Regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax,
held this 7th day of April, 1941. Mayor, -Nm. Behle,
called the meeting to order at 7: 50 P. ka. with the following
councilmen oresent:
C. E. Heaton, C. J. Dvorak, Frank
J. Moynihan and ft.. E. Dvorak. Councilman, G. J .
Knickerbocker was absent.
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
The Council sitting as a Board of Review examined the books
of Assessor, James Yanecek.
Zack McArthur appeared before the council with a request that
the assessed valuation of the Elevator at the Milwaukee hy.
be lowered. After some discussion it waamoved by Councilman
Wm. E. Dvorak, seconded by councilman Frank J. koynihan and
carried that the assessed valuation on the elevator be reduced
from $3,000. 00 to $2,700. 00 .
It was moved by councilman C. E. Heaton, Seconded by Councilman
Wm. E. Dvorak and carried that the assessed valuation on the
Lefebure store buildings and property be reduced from $2, 888.010
to $2,000 . 00.
It was moved by Frank J. Moynihan, seconded by C. E. Heaton to
approve the books of James Yanecek Assessor subject to the two,
changes.
The present Beer Permit for James Yanecek will expire April 21,
and application for renewal was read. It was moved by C. E.
Heaton, seconded by Frank J. Moynihan and unanimously carried
to renew the permit.
It was moved by Frank J. Moynihan, seconded by C . E. Reaton and
carried to approve the appointment of Chas J . Dvorak as Chief
of the Fire Department for the ensuing year.
It was moved by Frank J. 14oynihan, seconded by Wm. E. Dvorak and
unanimously carried to approve the following men as members of
the Fairfax Fire Department for the ensuing year:
Chas J. Dvorak, John E. Murphy, John L. Krall, C . E. Heaton,
Vp1m. E. Dvorak, Leo zamastill Robert Lockhart, Martin Moynihan,
James L. Claflin, E. F. Crowell, John E. Leary and E. F.
Listebarger.
The Council regretted, that due to illness, Wm. G. Zama,9t!l
was not able to attend to the duites of a firemenx and for
that reason omitted his name from membership, however, with
the definite understanding that as soon as he was able to
again attend to such duties he should be added to the roll
of fireman.

J. L. Krall, Secretary—Treasurer of the Fairfax Fire Department,
and Town ClerkP reported that Omer Tow had neglected to gaxtaixx
answer fire calls when he difinately had time and opportunities
to answer and he recommended that his name be dropped from the
rolls of Firemen. Acting on this recommendation the f6uncil
omitted the name of Omer Tow from the -bolls and discharged him
as a member of the Fire Department.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 9 : 15
P. M.
