Regular Meeting, of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax,
Iowa held this 7th day of July, 1941. Mayer Behl.e presiding !
called the meeting to order at S P. V. and the Councilmen present I
were: Chas J . Knickerbocker, Chas J. Dvorak, Wm. E. Dvorak and
C. E. Beaton. Councilman Frank J. goynihan was absent.
The minutes of the proceeding meeting were read and
approved. I
The following bills were read:
Concrete Materials & Construction Company 311. 65 toms
of chips and road stone @ $1. 55 Del. plus Ia. Sales Tax 0492.71. i
Iowa Road Building Company:
7924 Gal. Seal Coat Asphalt FOB Fairfax @.0572 $453. 25
Plus Iowa Sales Tax of 2% - - - - - - - - -- 9.07
.Applying 7924 Gallons Road Oil. @ .02 - - - - 158.46
Spreading 502 tons chips on streets 1@ 500 151.00.
Total Iowa. Road Building Company B411 0771. 80

It was mo-�Ted by Councilman C.J.Knickerbocker, seconded
by Councilman Wm. E. Dvorak and unanimously carried that the
bills as read be allowed and the clerk authorized and instruce
issue warrants in payment of said bills.
It was moved by Councilman ism. E. Dvorak, Seconded by Council.-
mat C. F. Heaton and unanimously carried that we fix the budget
estimate at $1,905.00$ as follows:
Estimated Other income 1300.00, Consolidated $1,220.00) Garbage
Disposal $80.00, Snow Removal 80.00, Fir, Maintenance $120.00,
Fire Equipment $65.00 and Road Dragging $40.001
And July 21st, 19412 8 P. M. be fixed as the time of hearing
and the Fairfax State Savings Bank be fixed as the place of hearing
on said budget estimate and that the Town Clerk be and is hereby
authorized and instructed to publish in the Cedar Rapids Gazette
notice of said hearing.
Todd Neuhaus and Gldhn Selzer appeartid befor the Council
and requested permission to use the streets for their annual
Hey-Dey celebration on Aug. 5, 1941.
It was moved by Councilman Chas J. Dvorak, seconded by
Councilman C. J. Knickerbocker and unanimously carried to grant
permission to the Young Men' s Club use of the streets for Aug. 5th,
1941 and that Vanderbilt "treet from Church qt . to Pp.i7_-rns.d. St
and that Main. Street from Franck Bartaos corner West be closed during
the Hey-Dey celebration and that the Fire Truck be placed in T .
H. Neuhause garage for that day.
There being no further business it was moved, seconded and
unanimously carried to adjourn.
